[Statement] Print: I work in steel using a variety of welding techniques, mainly oxy-acetylene for cutting and welding. I cut silhouetted shapes of cars, crows, ravens, songbirds, ants, and city skylines, along with images of vines and weeds that mingle to show a relationship between them. My work involves the automobile and the impact it has had on nature, our landscape, as well as our individual and collective lives. I work to represent these shapes as archetypes and totems to tell the story of the evolution of the automobile, their run on the landscape, and their final atonement with nature through their own deterioration. – Louis Fatta
